Pirates 🏴‍☠️🦜

Our kiddos have been all about pirates lately... every motor room time and end of the day play includes a pirate ship. So... we had to have a pirate week!! It was SO much fun!! We painted our pirate ship, painted like a pirate with an eye patch, made sticker art, made treasure maps, found a treasure map of the playground and went on a treasure hunt! Our VIP had a special lunch visitor. Thank you for coming!

Circles, Spots, and Polka-dots

Do you have a favorite shape? Mine is a circle... I don't know why, but circles just make me happy! So... when I saw a review of this book about this artist that covered everything in dots I had to have the book and make it a theme of the week! The artist is Yayoi Kusama and yes google had to help us pronounce her name correctly.  It was such a fun theme... we covered our light table area in white paper and the kids covered the paper with dot stickers. So fun!! We are still working on it this week! Bonus... stickers are a wonderful fine motor activity!   "The Dot" is another one of my favorite books. It is an awesome process art book. We had so much fun painting, coloring, and dotting circles!!

Thanksgiving 🦃

This week we learned about the first Thanksgiving. We also talked more about what we are thankful for and our favorite Thanksgiving food! We learned two Thanksgiving songs "The Cranberry Rolled Away" and "Albuquerque Turkey"  We discovered cranberries float and they are yummy after they are cooked, but not before! We learned that Native Americans communicated with pictures and we tried the same with our whiteboards. We painted with feathers, watercolored a feather, and made a turkey.  Our VIP shared her poster, her favorite book, and some of her favorite things. We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
