Thanksgiving 🦃

This week we learned about the first Thanksgiving. We also talked more about what we are thankful for and our favorite Thanksgiving food! We learned two Thanksgiving songs "The Cranberry Rolled Away" and "Albuquerque Turkey" 
We discovered cranberries float and they are yummy after they are cooked, but not before! We learned that Native Americans communicated with pictures and we tried the same with our whiteboards. We painted with feathers, watercolored a feather, and made a turkey.  Our VIP shared her poster, her favorite book, and some of her favorite things.

Seuss Week

One of my favorite weeks!! We had so much fun exploring Dr. Seuss books this week. Thank you for helping your kiddos dress for the days. Monday was "Cat in the Hat" day. We read the book, practiced our stacking and balancing skills, and designed a new hat for the cat! Tuesday was Silly Sock Day "Fox In Socks" and "The Foot Book" was our books of the day! We tried to color with our feet and then we painted with our feet!  "Wacky Wednesday" was our favorite day this week!! There were many wacky things in our classroom and the kiddos looked so wacky!! We painted on the wall, and painted under a table, and played in shaving cream all over the table.  Thursday was "Green Eggs and Ham" Day PLA kiddos will eat green eggs and ham... they will eat them here or there... they will eat them ANYWHERE!!  We finished our week with a pajama day! Eric Carle

Who is Eric Carle? He is a children's book author and illustrator. Some of his most popular books are The Very Hungry Caterpillar, The Tiny Seed,  and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?  To learn more  https://eric-carle.com/about-eric-carle/eric-carles-biography/   " Eric Carle’s art is distinctive and instantly recognizable. His artwork is created in collage technique, using hand-painted papers, which he cuts and layers to form bright and cheerful images."  We made our own Eric Carle inspired artwork this week. We painted newsprint with watercolor on Tuesday. Wednesday we cut the paper. Thursday and Friday we created artwork by gluing the shapes on cardstock.
